Buyer Summary

Wider rooms with coordinated factory and site preparation

An expandable container house has a central body and side sections that open at destination to create a broader floor plate. The structure, openings and agreed service preparation travel together, reducing loose-component assembly. The local team still positions and levels the unit, opens and supports the sections, secures connections and checks the services. This can suit a wider-room brief when the buyer has room for the opened footprint and accepts the transport requirements of an integrated module.

Early Selection Check

May suit
  • Low-to-medium unit counts where space per unit matters
  • Projects with limited field construction time
  • Relocatable operational spaces requiring faster recommissioning
  • Buyers willing to trade shipping density for factory integration
When to compare another KUBO system

Another KUBO system may fit better when shipping density is the overriding constraint, or the site cannot provide clear expansion space and level support. Review detachable flat pack for component-kit logistics and flat pack for a repeated multi-module layout.

Scale, Layout & Customization

Define Capacity and Building Logic Before Selecting Finishes

Expandable modules are not simply “large containers.” Their central body, folding zones and support lines shape the usable plan. Openings, partitions and fixed service points should be positioned around the movement envelope.

Floor planning

Use the central core for fixed structural and service interfaces. Keep moving joints, hinges and support zones clear in the final plan.

Project scale

The system often suits smaller to medium packages where reduced site work has higher value than maximum units per container.

Storey strategy

Most expandable projects are planned as single-storey deployments. Any stacking proposal requires dedicated engineering and manufacturer confirmation.

Customization

Exterior finish, openings, partitions, insulation, electrical distribution and connection points can be configured within the mechanical limits of the expansion system.

Project-Specific Engineering

Adapt the System to Measurable Site Conditions

Expanded joints, supports and seals are critical performance points. Site climate, wind, drainage and foundation tolerances must be reviewed before finalizing the unit.

Rain & humidity

Confirm roof-joint details, gasket compression, drainage paths, condensation control and a deployment inspection checklist for every opening cycle.

Cold climates

Review insulation continuity across fold lines, air leakage, thermal bridges, snow load and the effect of low temperature on seals and the selected deployment mechanism.

Wind exposure

Provide design wind criteria and anchorage conditions. Expanded wings, supports and locking points must be checked for the actual site—not assumed from a generic brochure.

Fire & local approval

The panel, lining, penetrations and escape arrangement are specified for the project. Local approval remains with the buyer’s appointed professionals and authorities.

Project-Specific Engineering: The expanded geometry, supports, anchorage, seals and envelope require project-specific engineering against the site’s structural, climate and fire criteria. Confirm deployment conditions and inspection requirements before approving the final configuration; no fixed reuse-cycle limit is offered here.
System Fit & Trade-offs

Choose Expandable Around the Opened Room and Site Footprint

Another KUBO system may fit better when shipping density is the overriding constraint, or the site cannot provide clear expansion space and level support. Review detachable flat pack for component-kit logistics and flat pack for a repeated multi-module layout.

Why Unit Price Alone Is Not Comparable

Module size, final structural arrangement, loads, panels, coatings, openings, documents, inspections, protection, freight point, local labor, lifting, installation support and exclusions can differ materially between quotations. Normalize those items before treating one supplier as cheaper.

Factory Manufacturing & Bulk Supply

Control the Project from Design Freeze to Container Loading

KUBO prepares the main steel body, moving sections, panels and scheduled doors/windows. Electrical distribution, sanitary equipment and interior preparation depend on the selected clinic, classroom, warehouse or retail package. Factory checks and packing protect the mechanism and completed items; local support, anchorage and utility work remain explicit in the quotation.

Packing, Shipping & Site Installation

Compact transport, controlled expansion and support verification

The deployed dimensions, loading count and site resources are confirmed for the selected expandable model. Submit the room layout and fit-out first so the packing drawing and deployment method describe the same configuration; no single area or setup time applies across the system.

01

Factory integration

The central structure, expansion mechanism, openings and agreed interfaces are fitted and inspected before packing.

02

Transport planning

Confirm closed transport dimensions, weight, center of gravity, lifting points and the container arrangement for the approved model. Include furniture, sanitary equipment and accessories in the loading plan.

03

Position & level

The local team prepares a level support pad and positions the closed unit with the specified lifting or handling equipment.

04

Expand & lock

Side sections are opened, supported and locked in the approved sequence. The crew verifies clearances, supports and mechanical stops.

05

Seal & commission

Joints, weather seals, doors, windows and service interfaces are checked before occupancy or operational handover.

Supply Scope & Responsibility Boundary

Separate Factory Supply from Buyer-Side Site Works

A clear responsibility matrix prevents gaps between the modular building package and the local construction scope.

Procurement FAQ

Questions Project Buyers Ask Before Ordering

KUBO manufactures expandable modules for clinic, classroom, storage and retail applications. The selected layout determines openings, interior preparation and module-side services; the order defines factory completion and destination responsibilities.
Yes, KUBO can quote bulk project quantities. Pricing depends on dimensions, structure, mechanism, envelope, openings, testing, documents, packing and destination—not quantity alone.
Confirm the selected model’s open drawing and the usable area after wall build-up, partitions and fit-out. Expandable configurations differ in their overall geometry; a generic floor-area figure should not be used to set occupancy or equipment layout.
The module ships with a substantial amount of the structure and fit-out already integrated. That reduces field assembly but occupies more transport volume per unit.
The handling plan depends on unit weight, lifting points and site access. The final method may use a crane, forklift or other approved equipment; it must be defined before shipment.
A level and adequately supported base is required. Adjustable supports may accommodate limited tolerance, but they do not replace proper site preparation or foundation engineering.
The design uses project-specific seals, flashings and compression details. Each deployment should include a visual and, where required, water-ingress inspection before handover.
It can be customized within the fixed central core, moving sections, hinges, supports and fold clearances. Early coordination prevents partitions or openings from interfering with deployment.
It may be configured for demanding sites, but the expanded geometry, supports and anchorage must be checked against the actual design wind and local requirements.
Approved drawings, deployment instructions, lifting points, support details, inspection checklist, maintenance guidance and any agreed service-interface documents should be included.
