Buyer Summary

A compact folded package for managed project stock

The Z-type system is a connected folding building that closes into a low-profile package for transport and storage. The destination crew positions the package, lifts and guides the connected sections into their working positions, secures the joints and checks the enclosure. Unlike an expandable side-wing layout, the name alone does not establish a larger room area. Confirm the opened drawing, folding movement and handling method for the offered model.

Early Selection Check

May suit
  • Project stock held before phased deployment
  • Housing, office, shelter or storage layouts compatible with folding
  • Sites with planned lifting and level support
  • Buyers who can inspect the unit before each move
When to compare another KUBO system

Another KUBO system may fit better when the priority is a wider interior, extensive customization or a multi-storey camp block. Compare expandable for wider-room layouts and flat pack for an engineered block arrangement.

Scale, Layout & Customization

Define Capacity and Building Logic Before Selecting Finishes

Coordinate room dimensions, openings and fixed equipment with the confirmed folding movement. Keep joints, lifting points, supports and access for inspection clear.

Usable floor area

Use the approved open drawing to confirm the usable room area after partitions, wall build-up and fit-out. Do not plan occupancy from a generic area label.

Project scale

Compare the unit schedule with available depot space, handling resources and destination needs. Package quantity and route-specific costs determine the procurement plan.

Arrangement

Single-storey rows, staggered clusters and courtyard layouts are typical. Any stacking proposal requires dedicated engineering confirmation.

Customization

Selected openings, panels, partitions, finishes and utility interfaces can be coordinated where they do not obstruct the confirmed folding movement, joints or support points.

Project-Specific Engineering

Adapt the System to Measurable Site Conditions

Project-specific engineering checks the deployed frame, joints, supports, seals and anchorage against the destination criteria. The inspection and maintenance plan also covers storage, transport and each subsequent deployment.

Dust, sand & debris

Keep moving joints and contact surfaces free of contamination. Clean and inspect the confirmed folding mechanism before closing or reopening the unit.

Rain & humidity

Review joint geometry, gaskets, roof overlaps, drainage and corrosion protection at the folded and deployed connections.

Wind & support

Confirm design wind, anchorage and support reactions for the deployed model. Secure and inspect every specified connection before the building is used.

Thermal & fire strategy

Insulation continuity, panel core, penetrations and egress are coordinated around the fixed and moving zones, then submitted for local project review.

Project-Specific Engineering: Confirm the deployed Z-type configuration against structural, wind, seismic, climate and fire criteria for the destination. Joint condition, handling and maintenance govern repeat use; a universal cycle count or service-life guarantee is not assumed.
System Fit & Trade-offs

Evaluate Z-Type Around Storage, Handling and Room Use

Another KUBO system may fit better when the priority is a wider interior, extensive customization or a multi-storey camp block. Compare expandable for wider-room layouts and flat pack for an engineered block arrangement.

Why Unit Price Alone Is Not Comparable

Module size, final structural arrangement, loads, panels, coatings, openings, documents, inspections, protection, freight point, local labor, lifting, installation support and exclusions can differ materially between quotations. Normalize those items before treating one supplier as cheaper.

Factory Manufacturing & Bulk Supply

Control the Project from Design Freeze to Container Loading

KUBO prepares the steel frame, connected folding sections, joints and specified doors/windows before packing. Any electrical preparation or interior items must fit the folded geometry. Packing, Shipping & Site Installation

Controlled Folding, Positioning and Connection Checks

Confirm the open and folded dimensions, loading quantity, crew and setup method on one approved model drawing and packing plan. These inputs vary with the supplied Z-type configuration; do not infer usable area from the system name or substitute another system’s loading reference.

01

Model confirmation

Freeze the unit’s open and folded drawings, weight, movement sequence, lifting points and accessories before preparing the packing plan.

02

Container loading

Determine the container arrangement from the confirmed folded package, weight and accessories. Protection, restraint and safe unloading must be included in the shipping plan.

03

Position & prepare

Place the folded package on the prepared support, clear the working area and inspect joints, locks and connected panels.

04

Lift, guide & secure

Use the approved lifting method to guide connected sections into position, then secure the joints and support points in the model-specific sequence.

05

Inspect & commission

Check joint engagement, supports, seals, openings, anchorage and utility interfaces before handover.

Supply Scope & Responsibility Boundary

Separate Factory Supply from Buyer-Side Site Works

A clear responsibility matrix prevents gaps between the modular building package and the local construction scope.

Procurement FAQ

Questions Project Buyers Ask Before Ordering

KUBO supplies the Z-type folding system for housing, office, shelter and storage configurations. Slide folding and Z-fold terminology refer to this system family; the quotation identifies the actual model, mechanism and agreed factory package.
KUBO can quote multi-unit and distributor enquiries. Pricing is based on quantity, deployed area, structure, mechanism, envelope, tests, packing, documents and destination requirements.
Both are connected folding systems. Compare the offered models by their folding geometry, open and packed dimensions, handling method and room layout. A system name does not establish a universal time, area or freight advantage.
Expandable uses opening side sections for a wider room plan. Consider it where that room layout and factory preparation are priorities; compare actual packing and deployment requirements before selecting a system.
Selected panels, openings, partitions, finishes and service interfaces can be coordinated within the confirmed folding geometry. Fixed equipment must not obstruct moving joints, handling points or supports.
Inspect the specified joints, pins, locks, seals, lifting points, supports and panel condition. Follow the maintenance plan for the supplied model and replace damaged or worn items before reuse.
A stable, level and properly supported base is required. Site preparation and anchorage depend on ground conditions, duration and design loads.
The approved model’s folded dimensions, weight, accessories and handling method determine the loading arrangement and site resources. Confirm the packing and deployment plans together rather than applying one number to every Z-type unit.
Typical deployment is single storey. Stacking should only be considered when a specific engineered configuration and local approval are available.
Check the offered model’s open and folded dimensions, movement sequence, joint engagement, seals, openings, finish, lifting points and packing identification against the agreed drawings and inspection scope.
